Subscription models in games?

A lot of the big companies have started making the public interested in subscription models for games. This model makes way less money for game companies and could cause serious problems if people stop buying games at launch as usual.

Do you think the public will shift into the subscription model completely ?

Not completely. I think it will be hard to convince indie developers to involve their products in subscription services owned by the more prominent companies. However, it is pretty clear that subscription-based services will become the norm more and more as cloud gaming becomes common.
